Razlog is a picturesque town in Southwestern Bulgaria, part of the Blagoevgrad Province and the administrative center of the Municipality of Razlog. Situated in the heart of the Razlog Valley, it is surrounded by three of the most beautiful mountains in Bulgaria—Rila, Pirin, and the Rhodopes.

History and Name
On March 26, 1925, the town officially adopted the name Razlog, replacing its former name, Mehomia. Today, it is home to:

• 12,951 residents by permanent address.

The Razlog Valley is a high-mountain intermontane depression with an average elevation of over 800 meters. It is surrounded by:

The Municipality of Razlog covers an area of 37,577 hectares, distributed as follows:
• 21,542 hectares of forest land—the forests are home to diverse flora and fauna.
• 7,035 hectares of arable land—fertile soils suitable for agricultural activities.
• 14,789 hectares of agricultural land—agriculture plays an important role in the local economy.
• 629 hectares of built-up areas—including the town of Razlog and surrounding settlements.
Climate
Razlog is part of the continental-Mediterranean climate zone, characterized by mild winters and cool summers:
• Average annual temperature: 9°C.
• Coldest month: January (-1.9°C).
• Warmest month: July (18.9°C).

The climate in the valley is influenced by the Mesta River, creating conditions for diverse vegetation and a favorable microclimate.
